The research results of thermal properties enhancement study of lauryl alcohol with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) as phase change material (PCM) performed in Renewable Energy Laboratory (Advisor: Prof: Honghyun Cho), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chosun University, has been published in Case Studies in Thermal Engineering journal (top 10.83%, IF: 4.724). This work aimed to improve the thermal properties using MWCNT, a carbon-based nano-additive. Nano-enhanced lauryl alcohol was prepared with different concentration of MWCNT and their thermal properties such as phase transition temperatures, latent heat and thermal conductivity were investigated using various characterization techniques. The optimal concentration of MWCNT was identified through this study and recommended. The results of this study help to develop a better nano-enhanced PCM with excellent heat storage and retrieval ability due to the improved thermal conductivity.
